Leverage lets you trade much larger positions than your deposit, often 5x, 10x, 20x, or more, by borrowing the rest from your broker. You’re speculating on price movements without owning the actual currencies, and there are no extra fees for the borrowed amount.

For instance, with 5× leverage, your $200 deposit could control a $1,000 stock position, with the broker providing the remaining $800.
